Sitara-e-Imtiaz winning professor shot dead



Karachi- A senior professor of the University of Karachi was shot dead near University Road today. Police confirmed that the professor succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Dr Hafiz Muhammad Shakeel Auj, dean of Islamic Studies Department of KU, had sustained bullet injuries when unidentified armed men opened fire on him near the Baitul Mukarram Mosque in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. According to reports, he was driving his car alone when gunmen targeted him.  The victim was immediately moved to a nearby hospital. Dr Shakeel had received a Sitara-e-Imtiaz this year.
