Islamabad  –  Pakistan’s JW-SEZ Group has partnered with China’s Jiangsu Jinpeng Group Co Ltd to locally produce electric two- and three-wheelers, in a bid to promote clean and affordable transport in the country. JW-SEZ Chairman Javed Afridi said plant production has already begun, and the vehicles are now available at RD Stores nationwide under Islamic Shariah-compliant financing.

“The JW Group has joined hands with Jinpeng to produce two- and three-wheelers in Pakistan,” Afridi told a wire service, adding that the launch responds to rising demand and the need for low-cost mobility solutions. The rollout comes as surging fuel prices and environmental concerns drive interest in electric vehicles. Industry officials said the venture underscores deepening Pakistan-China cooperation in the green transport sector. JW-SEZ, a diversified Pakistani conglomerate, has previously partnered with Chinese companies in automobiles, appliances and manufacturing, including MG Motors, Haier and Foton. The latest collaboration builds on that portfolio under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor’s industrial cooperation framework. Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Jiangsu Province, Jinpeng is the world’s largest electric tricycle manufacturer, with multiple production bases in China and an annual capacity of 3 million vehicles. Its lineup includes e-bikes, tricycles, new energy vehicles and forklifts. Under the joint venture, three electric two-wheeler models have been launched in Pakistan: Ride, Cruise and Swift.
