LAHORE – Pakistan stormed to an unassailable 2–0 lead in the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh with a commanding 57-run victory in the second T20I, powered by a blistering 74-run knock from Sahibzada Farhan.
Batting first after being put in, Pakistan posted a daunting 201-6 in their 20 overs, thanks to Farhan’s explosive innings at the top, complemented by a late-innings blitz from Hasan Nawaz, who smashed an unbeaten 51 off 26 balls. In-form Farhan’s 41-ball 74 included 4 boundaries and 6 sixes, setting the tone early for a high-scoring total. Despite the early loss of Saim Ayub for just 4, Farhan and M Haris combined for a rapid 103-run stand. Haris contributed a fiery 41 off 25 balls.
Captain Salman Agha chipped in with a quickfire 19, but it was Hasan Nawaz’s late assault that propelled Pakistan past 200. His unbeaten fifty featured 2 fours and 3 sixes. For Bangladesh, only Tanzim Hasan Sakib (2-36) and Hasan Mahmud (2-47) bowled well. In response, Bangladesh’s chase never really gained momentum. Despite a bright start from Tanzid Hasan (33 off 19), the middle-order collapsed under pressure from Pakistan’s well-rounded bowling attack. From 44-1, Bangladesh lost six wickets for just 33 runs, slumping to 77-7. For Pakistan, mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed claimed 3-19 while Shadab Khan, Khushdil Shah, Saim Ayub, Faheem Ashraf and Haris Rauf took one wicket each.
The only resistance came from Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who scored a defiant 50 off 31 balls, laced with 1 four and 5 sixes. However, his valiant effort came too late, as Bangladesh were bowled out for 144 in 19 overs, falling well short of the target. With this emphatic win, Pakistan sealed the series 2–0, with one game still to play on Sunday (June 1).
