
LAHORE – A ceremony was held on Thursday in connection with the inauguration of a Vocational Training Centre and a Lower Primary School at the Maskan-e-Ravi Low-Cost Housing Project of Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA). The Vocational Training Centre and Lower Primary School have been established through the collaboration of RUDA and Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC) as part of RUDA’s vision to uplift the lives of local communities by providing them with essential opportunities and facilities.
Chief Operating Officer (COO) RUDA, Mansoor Ahmed Janjua inaugurated the Vocational Training Centre and Lower Primary School. While speaking on the occasion, COO RUDA said that the project, comprising 100 housing units, is designed to ensure a comfortable lifestyle along with essential facilities, including a school for quality education and now a dedicated vocational training centre for women is in accordance with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
RUDA Director Special Initiatives, Fatima Ali Khan, while speaking on the occasion, said the centre aims to empower women by equipping them with sewing, tailoring, and other practical skill, thereby creating new employment opportunities and promoting economic independence. To further strengthen this initiative, representatives from PSDA and PVTC had also been invited, ensuring that collective expertise and resources contribute to making this a model of integrated community development, she added. Senior officials of RUDA, and PVTC were also present on the occasion. It is worthwhile to mention here that earlier this year, as part of RUDA CSR and Special Initiative, on January 13th, 2025, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the Maskan-e-Ravi Housing Scheme established under Ravi Urban Development Authority for the needy and deserving people.
