International exhibitions to unlock new opportunities for Pakistan’s handmade carpet industry

LAHORE   –  Chairman of the Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA) Mian Atiq-ur-Rehman and Chairman of the International Exhibition Riaz Ahmed have said that international exhibitions being organized in Pakistan, Turkiye, and Germany will unlock new opportunities for Pakistan’s handmade carpet industry and play a vital role in increasing exports.

They pointed out that the upcoming International Handmade Carpet Exhibition in Lahore this October will serve as a valuable platform to prepare for globally recognized trade fairs such as “Domotex” and “Heimtextil” in Germany and the “Carpet and Flooring Expo” in Turkiye, scheduled for next year. They added that a comprehensive strategy is being devised to fully capitalize on these opportunities and ensure long-term benefits for the industry. The leaders were addressing a meeting convened to review arrangements for the 41st International Handmade Carpet Exhibition, to be held in Lahore from October 7 to 9. During the meeting, committee organizers briefed participants on the progress of preparations. The session was attended by Patron-in-Chief Abdul Latif Malik, senior leader Usman Ashraf, Major (R) Akhtar Nazir, Saeed Khan, Saad Ijaz-ur-Rehman, Danial Hanif, Faisal Saeed Khan, and others. Expressing satisfaction over the arrangements, Mian Atiq-ur-Rehman and Riaz Ahmed revealed that more than 100 companies from various countries have already registered to participate in the Lahore exhibition, reflecting strong international confidence in Pakistan’s handmade carpet sector. They emphasized that the event has been carefully planned to project Pakistan’s craftsmanship at the global level and strengthen its foothold in int’l markets.
