UET Lahore hosts career counselling talk to inspire future ICT leaders



The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, through its Al-Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS) and in collaboration with IEEE ComSoc Lahore Chapter, hosted an insightful Career Counselling Talk on Huawei Cloud Technologies, offering students a gateway to explore global opportunities in cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI).

The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Rizwan Malik, Director of Cloud Ecosystem Development at Huawei, who presented Huawei Cloud’s vision of enabling industries through its “Kooverse” ecosystem, offering over 240 services. He highlighted Huawei’s robust compliance and security framework while underscoring collaborations with Khazana Cloud, the Higher Education Commission, Indus Cloud, and various government-led digital initiatives aimed at advancing Pakistan’s digital future.

Welcoming the participants, Mr. Kashif Bashir, Senior Manager Trainings at KICS and Chair of IEEE ComSoc Lahore Chapter, stressed the transformative impact of cloud computing and AI in building smart cities, modern industries, and shaping new career pathways. He urged students to align their ambitions with the rapid pace of global technological innovation.

From an industry perspective, Mr. Muzammil Hassan discussed the “tri-cycle technology” model, emphasizing the convergence of cloud platforms, developers, and front-end systems to deliver user-centric digital solutions. He encouraged students to seize opportunities in this rapidly evolving space.

Concluding the session, Mr. Bashir linked Huawei Cloud’s advancements with Pakistan’s vision of smart, sustainable cities, motivating students to pursue careers in ICT and emerging technologies to remain globally competitive. The seminar served as a vibrant platform for knowledge sharing, industry exposure, and career guidance, leaving participants inspired to contribute to Pakistan’s digital transformation.
