ISLAMABAD  –  Federal Economic Affairs and Establishment Division Minister Ahad Cheema Friday vowed to inaugurate the first ASAN Khidmat Centre in Islamabad as soon as possible, aiming to revolutionise public service delivery in Pakistan. The initiative follows a recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Pakistan and Azerbaijan to adopt Azerbaijan’s successful citizen-centric service model. Minister Cheema was briefed by the Ministry of IT and Telecom on the project, which will be established in collaboration with the Capital Development Authority (CDA), NADRA, Islamabad Police, and other key departments. Minister of State for IT, Shaza Khawaja, also attended the meeting along with senior representatives from various federal and local agencies.

The ASAN Khidmat Centre will serve as a one-stop facility offering over 100 essential government services, covering all stages of life from birth to death. These services will include those from Islamabad Police, NADRA, CDA, DRAP, FBISE, NH&MP, Excise and Taxation, SNGPL, the Immigration and Passport Department, FBR, IESCO, and the Deputy Commissioner’s Office. Minister Cheema also directed the inclusion of Ministry of Foreign Affairs services such as document attestation to enhance accessibility.

During the session, Cheema instructed all relevant departments to submit final recommendations within one week to fast-track the project. He emphasised the importance of adopting global best practices and leveraging Azerbaijan’s technical support. The CDA and Ministry of IT have been assigned to finalise the procurement plan. “The ASAN Khidmat Centre will transform how public services are delivered in Pakistan, ensuring efficiency and convenience for citizens,” Minister Cheema said, adding, “We are committed to bringing world-class standards to our governance framework.” The ASAN Khidmat Centre is poised to become a landmark initiative, streamlining public service delivery by providing citizens seamless access to essential services under one roof.
