
The Speakers of Sustainable Climate Action Conference have recommended onThursday that Climate Justice and Climate Change should be included in the curriculum of every degree program, adding that the promotion of climate intelligence should also be carried out.
The Sustainable Climate Action Conference has been organized by mutual collaboration of the Higher Education Commission Sindh, Karachi Climate Center, and Sohail University.
During the conference, national and international experts gave online presentations to the participants. During the various sessions of the conference, climate change experts, faculty members, and bureaucrats briefed the participants in detail, while Justice Adnan Iqbal Chaudhry of the Sindh High Court and Justice Jawad Hassan of the Lahore High Court also participated on special invitation.
The conference discussed issues and solutions regarding the challenges Pakistan is facing due to climate change.
While addressing the event, the Mayor of Karachi Murtaza Wahab said that we need to change ourselves, adding that we release pictures of plantation of trees on media and post them on social media too, but why have we never posted pictures of watering the plants? We must not only understand the increasing effects and importance of climate change but also urgently move toward its solutions, he added.
Director Legal Education of Pakistan Bar Council, Barrister Usama Malik, also addressed the conference and highlighted the challenges of climate change and the importance of legal education.
