QAU secures No. 1 spot in Pakistan, climbs to 354th worldwide



The QS World University Rankings 2026 has placed Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) as the top institution of Higher Education in Pakistan, placing it at an impressive 354th rank globally.
 
Quaid-i-Azam University remains the only Pakistani university to be consistently ranked No. 1 by this prestigious ranking agency over a decade, said a press release on Thursday.

QAU has also secured the 51st position worldwide in the category of Citations per Faculty, highlighting the outstanding quality and impact of its research output.

In addition to the latest QS World Rankings 2026, QAU has also received notable recognition in the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia Rankings 2025, which placed Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) as the top institution of Higher Education in Pakistan, placing it at an impressive 137th rank in Asia.
 
Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar (S.I.), Vice Chancellor, Quaid-i-Azam University, extended his heartfelt congratulations to all stakeholders, particularly recognizing the hardworking faculty, outstanding students, committed staff, devoted alumni, and the ranking committee for their unwavering efforts.
 
“Despite facing severe financial constraints, QAU continues to excel, proving that dedication and academic brilliance can overcome even the toughest challenges,” said the Vice Chancellor.
 
He emphasized the need for the government to acknowledge QAU’s achievements by providing enhanced financial support to sustain and elevate its global standing.
