ISLAMABAD- Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) announced a special package today, giving 50% fee concession to those who enroll for an Associate Degree in the specialized fields. The scholarships begin from this semester onwards.
Specialized fields include hotel management, tourism management, hospital management, banking and finance, human resource management, information technology management and marketing management. About 50% of the admission fee will be paid from the University’s Students’ Scholarship Fund.
The decision was made by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi, to promote education and increase the number of students in the specialized fields so that they can to meet the requirements of the public and private sector industries. The Associate degree program was recently launched by the University’s Commerce Department, keeping in view the growing manpower required by the industrial sector.
Students are currently being enrolled in these subjects which require at least an intermediate degree with at least 45% marks.
