KP minister vows transparent hiring of teachers

Peshawar – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary & Secondary Education, Muhammad Atif Khan today said the appointment of teachers in government schools across the province has started to overcome the scarcity of professional teachers.

Addressing a USAID scholarship awarding ceremony at University of Peshawar, he said that the services of a private testing body had been taken to make the appointment process transparent.

The Minister said that he faced strong criticism from certain people on adopting such a procedure for the appointments, adding that he would not compromise on education and would ensure recruitment of qualified teachers at all levels.

Muhammad Atif Khan thanked the United States government for providing scholarships to deserving students. This scholarship program is part of a larger $165 million USAID project.
