Summer camps abolished, millions of rupees wasted

Rawalpindi- Summer camps set up in Girls and Boys colleges of Rawalpindi division during summer vacations have been abolished.
The camps were abolished on June, 26 Thursday. These summer camps were set up in two to four colleges of Rawalpindi Division including Rawalpindi city. But millions of rupees were spent lavishly on them which proved unproductive in terms of promotion of educational activities among the students.
As per Punjab government directives these summer camps were to be established in every college and 3 classes were to be conducted. Honorarium to the tune of Rs 300 per day was allowed to every teacher and a handsome amount was allocated for providing refreshment to the students. It was binding on the teachers to send their photograph along with students attending summer camps daily. But fake photographs were supplied to the concerned quarters, sources said.
